Marcoliani was founded in Brianza, Northern Italy, between the uniquely beautiful Como Lake and the city of Milan, famous the world over for design and fashion. Just after WWII Giuseppe Gatti began cultivating silk cocoons in the attic of his home; he sold them to the silk yarn spinners in the Brianza district. Sixty years later, Giuseppe's children - Erminia, Paolo, and Carlo - have embraced the legacy of this precious know-how, interpreting it to suit more modern times.
The family-run business cleverly combines the deep-rooted artisan crafts with the very latest sophisticated technological know-how. Their products are wholly made in their facility in Italy, using high quality yarns. Long-established Italian spinning companies manufacture exclusive yarns for Marcoliani, using only the best fibers available on the global market: Pima two- and three-ply cotton Extra-fine Merino wool, and Cashmere.
Marcoliani's approach to production exploits only the most up-to-date machinery and is based on innovative interaction between craftmanship and high-tech, to obtain a final product that is stylish, comfortable, long-lasting, and perfectly suited to the modern man.
